Escarpment Edge
Wongawilli Plumbing, Village Cottages to New Builds
Wongawilli sits at the foot of the escarpment west of Dapto, about twenty-five minutes south-west of the Wollongong CBD. It began as a mining village, and the original cottages still cluster on the old streets, while a new estate has grown up beside them and larger rural-residential blocks fill the ground between and beyond.
Three kinds of home means three kinds of plumbing. The village cottages have century-old sewers and galvanised water. The new estate has builder-era faults arriving as warranties expire. The acreage blocks run on tank water, pumps, filters and on-site systems that fail in their own ways. Our south-west crew is based down the road in Dapto and carries parts for all three.
