Questions
Good to Know Before You Call
Is Wollongong tap water safe to drink?
Yes, it meets Australian drinking water guidelines. Filters are about taste, chlorine odour, sediment and scale, not safety, unless you're on rainwater, which does need filtration and UV before drinking.
How often do cartridges need changing?
Typically every 6 to 12 months depending on the system and your water use. We set a reminder and can do the changes for you, or show you how.
Can I install a filter myself?
Under-sink systems need a proper isolation tap and approved connections to your mains, a leak under a kitchen cupboard causes a lot of damage. Having it plumbed correctly is cheap insurance.
Will a filter reduce my water pressure?
A correctly sized and maintained system has minimal effect. Undersized filters or overdue cartridges do reduce flow, which is why we size properly and remind you about changes.
Do you supply the system or can I buy my own?
Either. We supply quality brands with easily available cartridges, or fit a system you've bought, we'll just check it's suitable first.
What about rainwater tanks?
Tank water used indoors needs sediment filtration and usually UV treatment. We install both and can connect the tank to your toilets, laundry and garden, see our rainwater tank page.
