Turn off the water
The main isolation tap is usually near the meter at the front boundary or where the pipe enters the house. Turn it clockwise.
Switch off electricity nearby
If water is near power points or lights, switch off that circuit at the switchboard before you do anything else.
Move what you can
Lift rugs, move furniture and electronics away from the water. Towels and buckets buy time.

Turn the gas off at the meter, open doors and windows, don't operate switches, and wait outside for us.
